Introduction

This privacy policy explains how MidiFlow Piano processes personal data when you use the app.

What Data We Collect

Device identifier
A pseudonymous identifier generated by the analytics SDK, sent by version 1.5.0 and later unless you turn off Share Anonymous Usage Data in the app's Settings (Connect tab, gear button). No account, name, advertising ID, file, piece title or keyboard name is attached.
Purpose: Measure anonymous product usage and purchase conversion.
Legal basis: Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
Data Retention: According to the configured analytics retention period.
Product interaction
Anonymous events for app starts, a piece played to its end (play mode, whether it is an included piece, a Free Classical Piece or a file of your own, the practised hand, the number of notes hit and, in Real-time mode, tempo and accuracy), tapping Scan and connecting a Bluetooth MIDI keyboard, and the purchase screen being shown or a purchase being started, with the place it was opened from. Piece titles, file names, MIDI content, the notes you play and the name of your keyboard are never sent.
Purpose: Improve playing along, keyboard connection, the practice tools and the paid offer.
Legal basis: Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
Data Retention: According to the configured analytics retention period.
Purchase history
Product identifier, price and currency after a verified purchase of MidiFlow Unlimited.
Purpose: Measure purchase-screen-to-purchase conversion.
Legal basis: Our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)
Data Retention: According to the configured analytics retention period.

Your imported MIDI files, your song library and your settings stay on your iPhone; we never receive them. When you add a piece from Free Classical Pieces, the app downloads its MIDI file directly from the website it comes from, the Mutopia Project (mutopiaproject.org) or piano-midi.de. As with any website, that server receives your device's IP address, the address of the requested file and standard request details such as the app and system version; piano-midi.de offers its files only over an unencrypted connection (HTTP). The optional purchase MidiFlow Unlimited is handled by Apple through the App Store: the app only asks Apple on your device whether your Apple Account owns it or first downloaded MidiFlow while it was a paid app, and we receive no payment details from these checks.
